The German premiere of The Fifth Estate
Finally, The Fitfth Estate had its premiere in Berlin last Monday and a lot of actors and celebrities enjoyed an exciting evening.
On Monday, 21 October, the long-awaited and much-anticipated premiere of “The Fifth Estate” took place in the cinema of the “Kulturbrauerei” in Berlin.
In the presence of the stars of the film, most notably Daniel Brühl and his real likeness, Daniel Domscheit-Berg, whose book “Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website” served among others as the basis for the film, actors and numerous prominent guests celebrated a successful premiere.
On the red carpet also seen: the actors Edgar Selge, Franziska Walser and Alexander Beyer as well as celebrities such as Thomas Heinze, Philipp Rösler, Tom Schilling, Minu Barati-Fischer, Dennenesch Zoudé, Carlo Rola, Pasquale Aleardi, Philip Langenegger or Anna Julia Kapfelsberger.
Unfortunately, Benedict Cumberbatch could not attend the event due to his filming schedule for The Imitation Game.
The German Film and Media Review FBW awarded the film with the “predicate particularly valuable”, saying:
“Bill Condon takes temporary history and packs it into an exciting drama. Its main characters are geeks, mainly chatting via keyboard. Yet the film is visually so varied and original, designed and skillfully cut so that each chat is a battle of words, each posting a weapon. The phenomenal performances of Benedict Cumberbatch as Assange and Daniel Brühl as Domscheit-Berg are yet just the top of the excellent cast, the breathtaking suspense and flood of images captivate the viewer until the final message of Julian Assange, send from his exile. A political thriller about the digital age that couldn’t be more up-to-date.”
There’s nothing to add!
Official start in Germany: 31 October 2013
