Stephen Hawking’s Grand Design (2012) TV

In this documentary about Stephen Hawking’s “Grand Design” Benedict can be heard as the narrator.

Stephen Hawking’s Grand Design is a documentary series in 3 episodes which started on Discovery Channel on 9 September 2012 with the 45-minute episode “The Key to the Cosmos”. The further episodes “The Meaning of Life” and “Did God create the Universe?” followed weekly.

The most famous astrophysicist of the present, Stephen Hawking, asks the one and only question discussed since the beginning of time – and Benedict Cumberbatch, who is connected to the genius since his amazing presentation in Hawking, acts as narrator of this exciting journey into facts and philosophical and religious considerations about whether a God created the universe in which we live – or is it all just a random result, the big-bang, maybe ?

The episode begins with Hawking’s touching words:
“Hello. My name is Stephen Hawking – physicist, cosmologist, and something of a dreamer. Although I can not move, and I have to speak through a computer, in my mind, I am free.”
